May 14, 2018 GODLY KNOWLEDGE

As the world continues to spin and people continue to discover things, there will always be new things to talk about and to learn. Just in the past 100 years, our world has made miraculous discoveries that have changed the way we live. As great as it may seem, all the newness of the world is simply that…of the world. If we want great knowledge, we need godly knowledge. It is true. It is perfect. And it is real.

SCRIPTURE:
2 Peter 1:2 “May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write ways you seek godly knowledge.
2. List how God has helped you in the past.
3. Know God can give you more and more knowledge from His word.
4. Seek Him and His word to guide you and fill you with what you need to know.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, we pray You will guide us with your great and godly knowledge. We know we can get quickly absorbed into this world and seek the ways of the world. We also know when we do this we aren’t living for You. We need Your knowledge from Your word to help us live as we are called to live as believers. Your word is so right and perfect and fitting for us. Help us to remember to stay in Your word and gain great knowledge from only You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
If we want to truly grow, we need godly knowledge.

The knowledge of this world will not help us in our daily lives. We need God’s knowledge.

There is no real newness in this world. That is why we need to study God’s word for direction or we will get in the same trap others did in the past.

God’s word can help us with all things in our lives. When we rely on the world, we will surely be disappointed.

God wants us to remember there is nothing in the world that is helpful and good. Only His word can bring us the knowledge and wisdom we need to truly live.

FOCUS:
Ecclesiastes 1:9 “History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new.” (NLT)
