Fell Down again

Wednesday, May 30, 2018

Howdee. Today was my Starbucks Day, but just didn't feel up to it, so I passed and went grocery shopping instead. Well, I drove to the market, got out of my car and just as I got the shopping cart, I fell backwards and lost my balance. The cart fell on me, and my purse went flying and I hit the pavement. But I never hit my head on the cement.

There was a nice young man that tried to right me, but with my bad knees, it was almost impossible to get me up. He said "just a minute and I will get some help". Well he sure did, here came two Firepersons. they righted me in two seconds flat. Guess they know how do do it. Boy did I feel foolish, they asked if I was OK, and what prompted the fall. I just told them I was trying to get the basket and I lost my balance. He asked if I was dizzy or felt light headed, I told him I was fine, just lost my balance. I thanked them both and we all went on our way.

Wow, what an experience you had! So glad to hear you're all right afterwards. emoticon So lucky you were in a place where someone could get you help and keep you safe so quickly! emoticon I've come to realize I may be facing balance issues in the near future, so I just found our Senior Center here in NH has a class called "Bone Builders." Are you near a Senior Center? Someone said it's a national program. Maybe this might help: https://www.facebook.com/bone.build

I want to thank everyone for responding to my "fall". Fortunately I have no bruises, and keeping my head up prevented me for banging it on the cement. The firefighters were awesome, and trust me their training was well worth it. emoticon

Oh Wow! Glad you are OK. Those firemen are amazing aren't they? I have a friend who fell out of bed and spent 2 hours on the floor before finally calling her daughter and son-in-law to try to help her get up. They tried for another hour. She was just so embarrassed to call anyone. They finally called the Fire Dept and they had her up in minutes. They told her to call them first next time because they're trained in how to do it. No need to feel embarrassed. I'm glad your spill was nothing worse but how scary!
