Thought and Prayer for Wednesday, June 20, 2018

Wednesday, June 20, 2018

There seems to be more opportunities in this world than ever before. We have many things we can do and see. The world appears to have so much to offer. Sometimes it can be overwhelming trying to decide what to do, where to go or who to see. However, as believers, the choice should be simple. God should be first in our lives. We are to choose to put Him first because He created us and He loves us. He has opportunities for us far greater than what this world has to offer. Let’s choose to seek what His plan is for us and give Him the glory in all we do. We should turn from the pull of this world and draw close to God.

James 4:8 “Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.” (NLT)

1. Write about some opportunities you have to spend time with God.
2. List the things He wants you to do to draw closer to Him.
3. Know God has the best opportunities in mind for you.
4. Seek His will and do what He calls you to do.

Dear Lord, we know we can get so distracted in this world. There are things going on all around us. Help us to stay focused on You, Lord. We want to know and do Your will. Help us to remember You are the only constant in our lives. When the things of the world fade away, You will always be with us. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

We need to turn from the pull of this world and choose to draw close to God.

When we draw close to God, He will draw close to us.

Ways we can draw close to God is through prayer, reading His word and spending quiet time with Him allowing Him to speak to us.

God is the only constant in our lives. We need to keep Him close to us to help us make right decisions.

When we turn from this world and repent of our sins, we can return to God and He will return to us. He is all we need.

Zechariah 1:3b “Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.” (NLT)
