"Blame is a condition of the mind where love is a condition of the heart. Choose to live your life from the heart." Dianne Adams

A contractor dies in a car accident on his 40th birthday and finds himself at the Pearly Gates.
A brass band is playing, the angels are singing a beautiful hymn, there is a huge crowd cheering and shouting his name, and absolutely everyone wants to shake his hand.
Just when he thinks things can’t possibly get any better, Saint Peter himself runs over, apologizes for not greeting him personally at the Pearly Gates, shakes his hand, and says, “Congratulations son, we’ve been waiting a long time for you.”
Totally confused and a little embarrassed, the contractor sheepishly looks at Saint Peter and says “Saint Peter, I tried to lead a God-fearing life, I loved my family, I tried to obey the 10 Commandments, but congratulations for what? I honestly don’t remember doing anything really special when I was alive.”
“Congratulations for what?” says Saint Peter, totally amazed at the man’s modesty.
“We’re celebrating the fact that you lived to be 160 years old! God himself wants to see you!”
The contractor is awestruck and can only look at Saint Peter with his mouth wide open.
When he regains his power of speech, he looks up at Saint Peter and says “Saint Peter, I lived my life in the eternal hope that when I died I would be judged by God and be found to be worthy, but I only lived to be forty.”
“That’s simply impossible son,” says Saint Peter. “We’ve added up your time sheets.”

Hang in there, we have a lot today:
It's Summer Solstice! It's also Midsummer Day and Litha Day! All are celebrations centered around the beginning of summer. It's also Yoga Day (practice those sun salutations), Ann and Samantha Day (honors Ann Frank and Samantha Smith. Samantha wrote to Andropov in 1982 regarding the Cold War), Atheists Solidarity Day, Cuckoo Warning Day (superstition that if you hear a cuckoo on today, it will be a wet summer), Dump the Pump Day (day to leave the car at home), Global Orgasm Day (well-satisfied participants contemplate world peace. I'm not making this up--google it), Go Skateboarding Day (then take me to the ER), Daylight Appreciation Day (spend some time outside today), Day of the Gong (honors the Gong Show, 1976-1978), Sea Shell Day (great way to appreciate daylight), Selfie Day (I suppose it had to happen), Tall Girl Appreciation Day (yes! not all of us gals are short and cute), Giraffe Day (I love watching them), World Handshake Day, Hydrography Day (the science that measures and describes the physical features of navigable portions of Earth), Music Day (honors the uplifting impact of music on our lives), Humanist Day (philosophy of belief that indicates that humanity is more than just the puppets of some divine being or subject to a list of metaphysical oddities and creatures with their own designs. Instead, humanism believes that we are whole in and of ourselves and that our good behavior and civility is not reliant on anything except a true and honest desire to be decent people), Make Music Day (play some tunes, play an instrument), and Peaches N' Cream Day.
