June 26, 2018 DECIDE HOW TO LIVE

If we aren’t happy with our lives, it is our fault. No one else’s. It is because of our decisions that we are where we are right now. Our choices put us in the exact place we are. We choose to work at certain places. We choose to read or watch certain things. Every choice we make has a good or bad circumstance. When we choose to live our own way, we are going to find ourselves unhappy and living in sin. However, when we choose to live for God and decide to turn from evil, we will live a wise and right life.

SCRIPTURE:
Titus 2:12 “And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God,” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write about some choices you have made lately.
2. List the consequences of your decisions.
3. Know God’s ways is always the best way.
4. Decide to pray for His direction before making your next decision.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, we sometimes make wrong choices in life. We don’t realize that our quick actions can hurt our lives and sometimes the lives of others. Help us to make right decisions so we are living for You. We no longer want to live based on our whims or the world’s actions. We want to live based on Your word and Your way. We want to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. Show us Your way today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
God’s way for our lives is far better and greater than our way. Let’s choose God’s way today.

God wants us to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures so we can make decisions that will help us grow as believers.

When we do what we want, when we want, we are setting wrong examples to others.

When we guard our hearts against this world, we are living according to God’s will.

We can guard our hearts by reading God’s word and choosing to live as He has called us to live.

FOCUS:
Proverbs 4:23 “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” (NLT)
