June 30, 2018 MOST IMPORTANT DECISION
Although we make many, many decisions in life, there are few that are extremely important. And, there is only one that is truly a matter of life or death. That decision which is the most important of all is one some people put off or don’t even believe is significant in life. Deciding to follow Jesus is the most important decision we will ever face. With that decision comes healing, peace and eternal life. Also, with that decision comes future decisions to resist temptations from this world and continue to follow Him. Accepting Jesus as our personal Savior and Lord is the most important decision we will ever make.
Luke 9:23-24 “Then he said to the crowd, ‘If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.’” (NLT)
1. Write about when you decided to follow Jesus.
2. List what you do to ensure you are following Him daily.
3. Get deeper into His word and pray more to make better decisions in life.
4. Trust in Him to get you through the hard times and thank Him giving Him all the glory.
Dear Lord, we are so grateful to You for Your Son, Jesus. We are so thankful You love us so much that You gave us Your Son to die so we will live. Help us to choose to follow You every day. We know there will be struggles. We know there will be temptations. We know there will be hard times. However, we also know when we choose to follow You, we are doing exactly what You created us to do. Today, and every day, we choose to follow only You. Guide us Your way. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Jesus is the Light we need that leads to eternal life. Won’t you follow Him?
John 8:12 “Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, ‘I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.’” (NLT)
Accepting Jesus as our personal Savior and Lord is the most important decision we will ever make.
Hebrews 9:28 “so also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.” (NLT)
Once we decide to follow Jesus, we must continue to decide to follow Him every day of our lives.
Colossians 2:6 “And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him.” (NLT)
