Hello. My name is Wendy. I'm new to SparkPeople but not new to working on my health. I used MyFitnessPal for about 5 years and another computer program for years before until it stopped being supported.
I'm 59 years old, married 32 years, raised 2 sons, and also have a daughter-in-love (married to a son) and 2 grandchildren.
I was on my first diet in kindergarten. Looking back at pictures I was built solid instead of really fat. Over the years I dieted myself fat - over 400 lbs. Lose a little, gain back more. About 8 years ago I stopped dieting and started living, and my weight went down. I lost more than 100 lbs. Eventually I got lax & gained back about 60 lbs.
Over the last few months I've been moving back to taking care of me and I've released those 60 again. I still have about 150 more to go. This has been a long journey and I can celebrate progress. But it is still so far to go. Blessings on the Journey!
