8/5/18 new schedule
Sunday, August 05, 2018
The last couple weeks, since coming back from out of town, I decided to ramp up my work schedule while I'm feeling decent. Luckily I work at a family business so there's been flexibility. I made a schedule and I've been sticking to it and it's actually been really great. I'll have to tweak it when school starts again, but for now it's been working. There were some weeks, particularly when my pain was really high, that I might not have even gotten 5 hours in a week. I'd just pop in, get the bare minimum done and that would be it until the next week. Since the pain is manageable right now, I've been working 8-8.5 hour days 3-4 days a week. I know that doesn't sound very impressive to many people, but it's been an adjustment.
I'm actually enjoying having a set schedule and not just being at home with no schedule. I've gotten more done at home even though I'm working. I feel I'm contributing not only at work but with home finances. I'm more involved at work so I'm learning more and I'm up on what's going on. So it's been really good.
Right now my muscles really hurt because I've been weeding a couple days this past week, but joint pain is manageable. I really need to stretch which I think I'll do next. I've learned that's very important to managing my pain actually is stretching (besides meds, supplements, etc)
Anyway, with my new routine I have been a little more tired, but I also have been making lunches and dinners more regularly, instead of eating out or having pizza or something. So all of my meals have definitely been healthier, but I'm still struggling with quantities and snacking. Tonight I had my teeth brushed by 8pm so I'll be good tonight at least. Even thought the meals have been healthier overall, there's still a lot of room for improvement, but at least I know I'm making some small changes in the right direction, which I'm planning on building on. When I wrote up my new schedule I planned everything, like what time to get up, what quick breakfast I could do, etc to get to work on time. I planned everything to make it realistic and easier to stick to.
Alright, off to bed soon. I have a plan for all of my meals tomorrow so I'm set there, then Tuesday I actually have off this week, woohoo! My local art museum has free days on Tuesdays, so I think I'll go there then see my esthetician friend for some pampering. I might also go get a pedicure! (I won a $50 mastercard at convention - woohoo!) (Tuesday my son will be at a park district day camp so It'll be a day just for me!) :)
Hope everyone is doing well!
