STILL 'SPARK(L)ING' AFTER 10 YEARS
Thursday, August 30, 2018
This blog is about 1 week late. Actually I had not planned to post a blog this year (my 10 year Sparkversary). What was I really celebrating? Ten years of not achieving my weight loss goals?
A decade of yo-yo dieting and self-sabotage?
Perhaps my goals were not "smart" enough or my expectations were unrealistic, or I had not approached the whole "lifestyle" thing seriously enough. And of course, being 10 years older does not help.
But at the end of all this musing I decided to post because after all this is my life and after all this time I have learned a few life lessons.
First of all I have learned to accept disappointment without being crushed or feeling bitter. I have so much more for which to be thankful. I know that I am far better off having been involved with SP. Over all, my life and habits are healthier and less stressful.
Second of all I have learned to reach out and share my struggles and help others who are struggling. This is all part of the human condition. No one escapes it in this life, and being connected to others makes the journey bearable.
Thirdly, I have learned a great many things about nutrition, exercise, stress reduction and how to prioritize them in an overly busy, frenetic world. The more I thought about it the better I started to feel, and the more I wanted to share.
So I shall keep sparking, learning, growing and sharing and reckon my successes not by the number on the scale
but by the transformations that are taking place in my life.
Thanks for taking time to read this blog and thanks for all your support.
