I have no idea where the 1st went..but it is gone!
We loaded up with the neighbors, Madison and Tom to head out to the Farmers Market.
There are several out on the Mesa, but I like Musso's best so that is where we went today.

I got a big ole jar of local honey. mm mm good and good for you. A spoonful in your tea tis great!

Some tomatoes and a huge cabbage to make up Cabbage rolls. A Rocky Ford cantaloupe , that about rounded out my purchases.
Madison bought a huge bag of fresh corn. We came to my house and prepped it, then popped into bags that went into the freezer...fresh corn all winter..how sweet is that!
She also made me a big pitcher of egg drop soup..yummy stuff!

I drug out the instant pot and made up some chicken and noodles with LOTS of veggies in it. Gene and Tammy do not get their veggies..so I sneak them in stuff that I make for them!
No matter how old your kids are ..you still look out for them in any way you can.

Spent some time doing throw and tug of war with Molly tonight. She is starting to make friends with Skinner I think. He comes up to the fence and lowers his head..she barks usually but tonite she was sniffing and taste testing type licks on his muzzle. He just stood there..so I figured I would let the kids get acquainted as long as no one was being rotten!
I still haven't convinced Molly that the chickens do not need her to sneak up behind them and bark. I try to say NO..but it is hard to do when you are trying to hold back laughter.
The silly hens go airborne...and squawk..then crash to the ground running. Molly stands there with the most delighted look on her face. She turned around to look at me and I swear her face and eyes just said...Look what I did Mum ,,ain't it fun!! Now how can you not laugh!

So that was my day in a nut shell ..doesn't sound like much but sure managed to stay busy!
The cooler days and brisk nights are indicators of things to come...OH goodie!! soon will be time for the first fire of the season. Tis a contest between Gene & I to see who breaks down and does a Morning Take The Chill Off fire. He almost did the other day..but had to get ready for work and did not want to take time. Dern I woulda won !!

Good nite and good rest to all..enjoy your holiday tomorrow if you have plans enjoy!!

Oh, oh, Katie, I think you may lose that morning fire challenge just because you don't have to go to work and you are staying behind in the chilly house! I knew there must be a down-side to retirement....

Molly sure entertains you...and Skinner...and, of course...the chickens!!

A busy day and a fun one! Madison and Tom sound like good neighbors!
