2018 Denver Komen Race For The Cure
Sunday, September 30, 2018
It was chilly at 4:30am as my mom and I started our drive into Downtown Denver. We were volunteers for registration and packet pick up. My mom and I both did registration and taking the money and stapling the money, checks and credit card receipts to the registration forms. We had runners get the shirts for us and we had the race bibs on our table along with the safety pins. All of us volunteers were looking forward to the sun rising so we could start warming up. We were greeted with cloudy skies with the temperature remaining the same. We were done at 9am so we headed into the Expo area and were very disappointed as there were barely any vendors there, just as well because the temperature was going down at a fast rate. I do not see it getting into the 70's as forecast for today. It is 11:45am now and it is only 49 degrees. I did enjoy volunteering, I always do. I have no idea what happened this year with the event though.
I asked my oldest son a couple of days ago if he wanted to go into the mountains to Estes Park to go to Elk Fest. He said he would if he was feeling better, I told him to be here at noon, so will find out soon if we will be going to Elk Fest. The elk are bugling, there will be Indians there to talk about the elk and also will do storytelling. I love Indian storytelling. This time though I will be prepared for the weather.
I have been hearing screaming coming from the house next door for the last 10 minutes and called the police to have it checked out.
