First "Fall" Day of the year 10/11/18

I woke up this morning to a beautiful 60-something degree day. After MONTHS of horribly hot weather fall seems to have arrived at least temporarily in Memphis. On the way into work today I decided to take a detour by the park and walk a mile in this wonderfully mild weather. I think I may try making that a habit especially as the days are getting shorter and it's too dark to walk outdoors after work. I also took a mid afternoon walk around the block at work to kind of refresh my brain around the 3pm slump. Easily got my 6000 steps in today. I'm going to make an effort to get outside daily these next several months when my SAD is usually the worst. My antidepressants help but don't alleviate it completely. Getting as much sunlight as possible is supposed to help as is getting exercise so walking more outdoors it is.

Apparently one of my previous blog posts is trending right now. I've gotten 75 comments, probably more than 50 of those since yesterday. Interestingly enough it's the blog about how I know I'm succeeding when the scale isn't moving the direction it "should". It's a good time for me to have that one popping back up. Tomorrow is weigh in day.

I am pretty sure that the scale at the hotel last week and the scale here at home do not agree at all and I am expecting to show a gain as I get back on my usual scale. I suspected the scale last Friday was wrong but I decided to record it anyway because it encouraged me to see 210 even if it was only for that day. We'll see what happens in the morning. Saturday we have plans to go to the Renn Faire which will involve a ton of walking. I know I've done what I needed to do this week. I know I'm getting stronger and my habits are changing. Regardless of what the scale may say/show...I am still succeeding. #onwardanddownward #ONEderland

    I like to get out for a walk each day too. Gyms and pools are great but no substitute for fresh air!

    I too had diabetes but through exercise and watching my carbs. I'm no longer a diabetic!!!

    What is a God send is the nutritional tracker. It's been almost three years and I'm still
    diabetes free. Mostly by watching my carbs. emoticon
