Half Marathon Training Day 1

I decided to train for a half marathon that my 12 year old son is training for. I have never been a runner. I have always disliked running, but I really want to do this. I have sensitive knees so I was a little worried to start, but today went well. I am following a couch to half marathon schedule I found online. Today was 30 minutes of running for 1 minute and walking for 2. I am going to write about it every so often to keep track of how I feel along this journey.

    Great goal! There are lots of training programs available, and it’s important to take it slowly, to,avoid injury. You can also do the half as a walker. I am a walker and have done several halfs. Some races have an actual walking division, but even if they don’t, you can usually enter as a walker as long as you can walk in the allotted time. Have fun with this! emoticon

    i loved to run. you need to think positive and try to run a little more than you ran yesterday. in time it will become easier. if you can run with your son.
