"Your life is a result of the choices you make. If you don't like your life, it is time to start making better choices."

"I used to think fresh air was free until I bought a bag of potato chips."

Answering the phone, the priest was surprised to hear the caller introduce herself as an IRS auditor.

“But we do not pay taxes,” the priest said.

“It isn’t you, Father, it’s one of your parishioner, Sean McCullough. He indicates on his tax return that he gave a donation of $15,000 to the church last year. Is this, in fact, the truth?”

The priest smiled broadly. “The check hasn’t arrived yet, but I’m sure I’ll have it when I remind dear Sean.”

It's Cliché Day! Those trite phrases we try to avoid, this day is to see how many phrases you can string together. What were your favorites (or least favorite) while growing up? It's Book Lovers Day! Today is the day to go to a book sale or curl up in a nook with your favorite book. It's Give Someone a Dollar Day (a day to encourage giving of all kinds and all charities; it doesn't have to be much, just give to show you care), Digital Scrapbooking Day (to educate creative ways to document and display memories plus proper digital storage of photos), Bison Day (honors the ecological, economic, historical and cultural importance of these grand animals to American society and history), Learn to Homebrew Day (have you been wanting to learn how to make beer?; this is your day to find meetings to learn this craft), Sandwich Day (celebrated on the 1718 birthday of John Montague who was the famous Earl of Sandwich credited with concocting this lunch staple), Wine Tasting Day (if beer isn't your style, how about trying different wines), Jellyfish Day (raises awareness of these marine animals who are starting their migrations), Numbat Day (raises awareness of this small endangered marsupial of southwest Western Australia), and Pumpkin Destruction Day (this is the day to clean up those pumpkins we kept through Halloween and can now be put in the compost).
