"If life was easy where would all the adventures be?"
"I'm on a light diet. I eat by daylight, I eat by moonlight, and I sometimes eat by refrigerator light."
“Poor Old fool,” thought the gentleman as he watched an old man trying to fish in a puddle of water outside of the bar. He decided to invite the old man inside for a drink. As they sipped their whiskeys, the gentleman thought he’d humor the old man and asked, “So how many have you caught so far?”
The old man replied, “You’re the eighth today.”
It's Forget-Me-Not Day! It's a day to reconnect with family and friends and to remember those who are no longer with us. It's Sesame Street Day! This beloved children's program debuted on this day in 1969 and still continues to delight all generations. It's Area Code Day (the North American Numbering Plan was devised in the 1940's and implemented in 1951 by AT&T for the Bell System; I used to work for "Ma Bell" and have all kinds of stories about area codes--and yes, I'm old--LOL), International Accounting Day (honors all those number crunchers who keep our finances and taxes in order), Vanilla Cupcake Day (the first description of a cupcake was in the American Cookery in 1796; cupcakes as we know them first appear in 1828 as 2 versions: either made in a cup-life container or measured out by the cup as opposed to being weighed), Wine Tourism Day (honors all businesses, restaurants, hotels, and breweries associated with the wine tourism industry), World Science Day for Peace and Development (highlights the importance and relevance of science in our lives and society), Net Cancer Awareness Day (raises awareness of neuroendocrine tumor cancer and the need for timely detection and accurate diagnosis), and USMC Day (the United States Marine Corp was created in 1775).
