is this too high???

Tuesday, November 27, 2018

my doctors office called this morning and told me my cholesterol is 222....is that high???
she wants to discuss putting me on meds for it at my next appointment which is in 8 weeks.
what can i do to lower it before then??
what foods am i eating that might be increasing my cholesterol?
i had been trying the keto diet recently and was eating alot of bacon and butter.
i gave up on it when i started having constipation and went back to eating morning oatmeal and prunes.
i am eating healthier these days but i know i can do better.
i dont want to add one more pill to my diet.
im gonna get busy these next 8 weeks and hopefully get her to do the labs over and see if it has helped.

If you also have a hypothyroid condition, PLEASE ensure that your thyroid is functioning properly before consenting to a cholesterol lowering drug. As a person with hypothyroidism my Primary Care Physician has repeatedly stressed that the levels of our thyroid hormone impact our cholesterol levels and that I should never consent to a cholesterol lowering drug unless I know that my thyroid numbers are in order. Otherwise, address the thyroid issue first and more often than not, the cholesterol levels will fall back into line as the thyroid function improves.

    Good luck!

Hi fiber foods will help with lowering cholesterol. So avocado, oats, beans, salmon and some nuts are all acceptable and will help lower you cholesterol. Apple- cider vinegar will also help. Hope this gives you some ideals and good luck.
