Yikes soon we will have to learn to write yet another year on any papers we sign . How did an entire year slide by so rapidly?
This has not been a banner year in many ways..for our country or for many others around the world. The weather change is affecting all life forms on this planet. Are you ready for the Polar Shift? I was looking at my map and thinking..hmm I will be about where Alaska is now if it does a 45% shift. If any of us are around after (if) that happens. An idea for a neat SciFi novel there!

Plans for today got shuffled. Youth group was to move some hay for me. but at another project the youth leader got an eye injury..so that was that for all activities for the day. I am more concerned about his eye than the hay. No word yet on how he is doing.
The winds shifted..got cool..then stronger and colder. I stocked up on wood, kindling and starter chunks. There is now a lovely fire blazing and the main part of the house is nice and cozy!

Lil Mr Don Q is becoming more and more of a character. He got pushy this AM about his carrot. I give them a carrot before grain in the AM. He has gotten used to that and was not at all pleased that I did not meet him carrot in hand. He acts like he thinks he is royalty!! We did a little attitude adjustment exercise, which caused him to just trot off swishing his lil tail as if sending me a message! Yes he got his carrot..but when I was ready to give it to him. I keep thinking there is some Shetland Pony in this lil dude, he sure has that Shetland attitude!

I started taking one of the small buckets down to collect eggs. It is driving my hens crazy! They are used to the idea if I have a bucket in my hand it is feed or scraps. Now they come running only to be greeted with me saying Hello girls. I guess I better start putting some scraps in that bucket..the whole idea was to have a clean bucket to gather eggs. I think it is working out but the girls are not happy! It is a sight to see..chickens as a rule do not fly well. They can do lil spurts and do not land gracefully at all. When they see any bucket they come running and calling. that causes the ones further out to attempt to "fly" in to get there faster!
Always a cause for laughter!!

Now settling in for a quiet evening. I wish the same for all.
Continued prayers for those affected by the fires and floods.

Good nite all...

I also hope the youth leader is okay! Great that he does projects like that with the kids and I know it is good for them and for the people they help. Sorry your hay didn't get moved.

Love the animals. That Don Q....now just how do you know he ISN'T royalty, Katie? LOL
Wouldn't it be nice to hear HIS version of his life? Maybe he should write a book? Sounds like he's smart enough. Actually he would have a problem typing or holding a pen...maybe you could write it....a children's book perhaps??

Sorry for floating that idea! I know life is busy enough without writing a book.

Hmmm...but it you do it would have to be about Skinner AND Don Q....and maybe the chickens and ducks, and Molly....or maybe you could just get on a roll and give them each a book with the others as supporting character???

I guess I'm just in the mood to cause trouble this morning.....sorry!

Cozy fire does sound good. Izzy is passed out on my lap after our having the Little Guy here overnight. His name is Roman, but ever since he was born I've called him" Bud"!! Lol, he responds to it now. Hahaha.

Sleep well, sweet Katie!! TY for being a leader with us on the Dawggie team!!! You're helping me out a zillion times zillions!! Very appreciated!!
