New Year's Day 2019

Tuesday, January 01, 2019

Last night I told the family we are going to keep a "Blessings & Opportunities" jar this year and then we will read through them at the end of the year or every 3-4 months. I was tired of the grumbling from Isaac last night and just blurted it out, but decided it was a good idea after such a rough year. Tomorrow that is first on my "to do" list. Decorating the vase and cutting strips of paper to use each day that are colorful.

This morning both kids were gone by 9:45 (Isaac to basketball and Maegann to work) and they didn't return until about 3:30. Tim worked on the house addition all day so for the most part I had the place to myself. I spent the time cleaning up the kitchen and doing paid work. Did today's scheduled budget reviews and got four more plans drafted. My pile of folders is getting smaller! I was happy to get one more off for approval as well. Tonight the kids and I watched a few episodes of "Nailed It" (holiday episodes) and now they are heading to bed.

Tomorrow Isaac has time with Destinie at 9 a.m. and then goes to the gym about 4 p.m. as it is game day. Maegann works from 11:30-4 and Tim is planning on working at a friends place all day. If not, he'll work on the house some more. I will get the ham baked in the morning so it is around for everyone as we come and go. I will do some cleaning and then switch to paid work since the place should be fairly quiet once again.

Isaac's basketball is going very well. The team is winning more than losing, so that's good. They have a team "dinner" the day before game day so he was gone for that after practice today.

Maegann had a rough day at work as they were extremely busy and understaffed as the management didn't expect the amount of people that arrived. She survived it. Learned a bit about how others respond to stress. Learned that she can control her own emotions in that environment too. All good stuff.
