A long time ago I read a book by Rachel Naomi Remen called "My Grandfather's Blessings". She talked about the word "clear" and this is a quote from that book.

"I looked it up in the Random House Dictionary of the English Language and found that it had more than sixty meanings, many of which have to do with freedom: free from obstruction; free from guilt; free from blame; free from confusion; free from entanglements; free from limitation; free from debt; free from impurities; free from suspicion; free from illusion; free from doubt; free from uncertainty; free from ambiguity; and so on. And, of course, it’s ultimate meaning, which is “able to serve perfectly in the passage of light.”

I have thought about "clear" many times since then and one of the things I pray for is clarity in the way I look at my life and the people and world around me. It is one of the thoughts that is often in my prayers for my children....that they will have clarity in their lives so...

CLARITY or CLEAR is my word for 2019
I will work to have
clarity of purpose so that I can live out God's will in my life
clarity in the goals I set for myself so that I can achieve
clarity in my speech so there are no misunderstandings
clarity in my views so that I can live without judgement, self-blame, or confusion
clarity in my beliefs so that I can be a good wife, mom, sister, grandma, friend and example

I need that clarity so that I can be "clear" in all the ways that Dr. Remen mentioned.
