no balance

Friday, January 04, 2019

I got these New Balance shoes in Feb 2017 and I loved them dearly, they fit so well, they didnt rub, they had good traction, light weight but supportive.
Sometime that summer I stepped in something akin to tar or cement that caked up on the shoe.
At first I thought it was gum, but once I started to remove it I realized it was cement.
I used a scrub brush to remove it and it came off pretty easily, but it did wear some of the tread down.
No real problem and I continued wearing the shoe for another year.
But recently while outside one day I felt like I could feel cold air or dampness in the shoe.
When i flipped it over, this is what I found.
A big hole where the tread had worn down.
I am guessing my removing the tar must have broken it down until it eventually wore on thru.
So, my beloved shoes are now sitting by the door, longing to go to the track.
But I am going to replace them.
After doing a friend poll, I am told to try Brooks, a brand I have seen many times but never tried.
I am waiting for my pair to arrive in the mail in a few days and IF it ever stops raining I will take them to the track for a test run.
Speaking of rain.
That is all it ever does here, I feel like I live in the rain forest.
Mud so deep in my yard you cant walk without something to hold onto.
slip and slide.
I would actually prefer snow at this point.
drip drip.....

emoticon Nothing like a good pair of shoes! I have trouble finding shoes for my skinny feet but I have decided when I find a garment/footwear that I love I will buy more than one. Too often I want that item again and they are no longer available.
