Why write a note to your future self?
Sunday, January 06, 2019
It is SO easy to forget how we feel -- I suggest writing it down in as much detail as is meaningful-- as a heartfelt note to your future self. Be eloquent! Then, when you are tired and unmotivated and tempted to slide back into old habits, read what you wrote. Maybe you want to keep this note with you at all times, ready to provide you with motivation daily!
What does it feel like to be tired all the time?
Where does it hurt? How does it hurt?
What led you here to the point where you are willing to step onto the long road to TRY to feel better, look better, be better...
Does it or NOT really help you to eat unhealthy foods?
Which ones do you eat and why?
What are the other problems you are avoiding because you just can't deal with them because you just aren't "up" for it?
What are you missing, and missing out on, by being this way? How are you stressed by not being in good health?
Describe your suffering from these bad choices you know you've made.
How LONG has it been like this?
HOW MANY TIMES have you took what you thought was just one tiny temporary step on the wrong path (maybe oh, just one dinner at a fast food joint, or ate too much sugar, or didn't do the exercise you promised yourself) telling yourself that you'd return to the straight and narrow path the next day --- but it turned into a L-O-N-G slide to the bottom? In other words, do you realize yet that you've been lying to yourself, over and over?
How many times have you given up -- then started all over again from the beginning?
Are you willing to admit that you aren't strong enough right now to take tiny steps off the straight and narrow path without sliding MUCH farther towards where you started from than you are willing to accept?
How aggravated are you with yourself for wasting your time?
What have you learned from living like this?
Are you ready to LEARN from your mistakes and make PERMANENT changes?
Really? Really? REALLY?
