I don't want to admit this . . .

Thursday, January 17, 2019

So, I am doing pretty poorly at this. I don't really mind the barre stuff but I am realising it is not the inspirational "refresh" button of my workout life.
My office has been moving across town and so the last two weeks have been filled with heavy lifting and trips up and down flights of stairs (one day this week I hit 32 flights!!)
I am tired and the days are long so sleep is short and I have "treated" myself to doing a Leslie Sansone Walk at Home video more than once (she just makes me smile every time!!!)
I guess that brings me to this revealing observation: doing what is "on the agenda" is less important than doing what brings you joy; in the long run I will look back at this time as a period when I didn't stop working towards my goals, NOT as the time I missed workouts because I was too overwhelmed to bother with something I had no heart to find the motivation to do.
I encourage you to find what brings you joy, what makes you smile (even at 6 a.m.!) and build on that. Don't worry about the "shoulds", that won't keep you going.
Yes, I will finish my challenge for the month, not with dread, but knowing that I am capable of "keeping on"...just like any one of you are!!!
Have a joy filled week. Enjoy the journey. See you next week emoticon

Leslie Sansone lifts my spirits, too. Have over a dozen of her DVDs and use them nearly every day, rotating the type of workout. We're not perfect, we're human beings just doing the best we can. emoticon

I like that attitude...this is a point of view I'm going to keep tucked in my back pocket to pull it out when I need it for those harder days :D

Work in itself was a workout, gracious I'm lucky to hit 10 flights of stairs in a week. I'd be ecstatic being able to do that, I drive so only have about 30 mins to getan exercise routine in most days

Sounds like you did your workouts at work! I don't view that as missing a fitness workout. You showed you are flexible and are determined and I found your blog motivating!
