Just me babbling

I've been on SparkPeople for a few years, but have never been a regular user. I have gained and lost the same weight for years, but this time it just won't leave me. No photos as I am actually quite ashamed of how I look right now. Even reading Sparkpeople articles that say things like "getting back into your skinny jeans" makes me cringe. Our world is obsessed with being model thin. I just want to be a happy healthy senior who ends up being 25 pounds lighter!
Out of my three adult children two of them had serious health issues. My middle son was diagnosed with end stage liver failure Dec 2017 and my daughter was diagnosed with uterine cancer in May of 2018.
Daughter had surgery and a few months later was declared cancer free.
Son developed kidney failure and almost died three times. He lives with me, so I was the person who took him to dialysis three times a week and to all the doctor and medical appointments. Long story short, prayers were answered and he received a liver transplant November of 2018. The new liver started functioning immediately, and his kidneys returned to normal five days later - no more dialysis!

2 months later he was told he could drive, so I no longer have to take him to multiple appointments. The biggest problem now is with the amount of anti rejection drugs he has to take. Just getting a cold around christmas time, put him back in hospital for 6 days. Because he lives in my house, we both have to stay away from crowded public spaces, No public transit, (buses, trains, etc)
I read an article on Spark People that said just letting someone know you are trying to lose weight could be enough to keep the momentum going and for accountability. With this - my first ever blog - I am announcing that I am starting the journey to bettering my own health, by losing weight. It's time I became my own caregiver!
Thank you for reading / listening to my ramblings!!!
