Day 60 (I think)

It is either 59 or 60 days since the start of this journey to an improved me. An important thing I have learned along the way is that I can have a day or two where, if I don't have a choice (because I wish to enjoy the occasion and/or I don't want to put any demands on the host), I can give myself permission to eat and drink well and later get back into my routine of calorie counting when back home without putting myself under any pressure. My weight this morning is below 250lb for the first time in about 25 years which is fantastic. Had two suspicious growths removed this morning, neck and arm, so awaiting the report with interest. Not sure what will happen if positive, but life will go on regardless. My son, who lives in Invercargill, will be here next weekend so it will be good to catch up. No nibbles on the house yet so it will now be listed as a normal property sale with a price etc. I don't go to Melbourne until early June so still plenty of time to sell up. Lots of bowls tournaments lately, with varying degrees of success. I have club championship matches later today, tomorrow morning, then a tournament all weekend. Just busy enough really.

    That 'giving yourself permission' is, IMHO one of the most important things that we can do with our nutrition. I do that, and it really does work. 27kg down, and maintaining for a few years. To borrow a phrase from an Advert on TV ... "It works people!"
