I have always struggled with a reward system in meeting goals. I feel giving myself rewards is silly and meaningless. In reality, in order for me to give myself an award means that I have been depriving myself of the thing I desire.

I just can’t wrap my head around it.

Regardless, I am going to force myself into a reward system. This is what I came up with so far:

205- Puzzle
165-Something big, as this is my goal weight

As you can see, I could use some help here.

The two major life changes I am working on are health and finance, so I am not going to spend much money on anything. Any discretionary money coming in goes to bills. I read free books, my DVR is filling up fast with unwatched shows (as is my Netflix queue), and I don’t make time to play any games.

I would welcome any suggestions or commentary.

Make good choices,

Do you attend any free events in the area? Those are fun rewards!! Here at the city Community Center they have many free events. Or very, very low cost(1-3$) some which aren't done often. Fun reward!!

I had joined a cribbage tournament. FUN!! Lol I happened to of WON.

How about having a totally zany dress up as a favorite movie, or game character party. But be creative, ,can only use things laying around the house. Instead food being the center,,, have some games you made up(internet is full of ideas) as you hit your goals.

Hit more,,, do a race to raise funds fora charity you'd like to support.

PS: WELCOME to the AWESOME A team!! From your page and this blog you're an person who sets and does what they can to achieve them, in reason.

I have always struggled with rewards that are not food-related. You have a good start. Perhaps add "time". Set aside a block of time that is just for you to do whatever you want to do. Maybe it's time to explore a place or a subject that's new to you...stroll an attractive area, browse a place on your bucket or "some day" list...

I'm like you - I don't actually deprive myself of anything, so have trouble coming up with rewards. Sometimes I've found it helpful to use intentional "me" time as a reward (for example, going out to coffee with a friend, or spending an hour reading a book while the dishes sit in the sink with no "I should be" feeling). I once rewarded myself by getting rid of a pair of hideous jeans that were FINALLY too large, so I'd never have to wear them again! You'll figure out what works for YOU!

I have a reward chart. I need 2 lose a 100 lbs. (Geez thats sounds like a lot. Sadly it is.) On mine, my rewards are going 2 my favorite fast food; geetting a 🍔 with all the veggies, ( no bread though) no 🍟, yogurt parfait 4 desert. A shirt i like.
