Sugar Cravings Galore

Tame Your Sweet Tooth Challenge Day 7: Touchy subject.

I'm not a person that loves sugar. In fact, I hate it most of the time. On weekends at parties I can easily turn down cakes and cookies. But at work, when I'm stressed out or when I'm home and feeling lonely or moody, I cannot. Gave in to cookies yesterday from the vending machine. Although I fit them into my goals, I thought long and hard about how I didn't need it and I could always get something healthier, but alas, I failed.

So stress and lonely boredom are my triggers. I'm going to put a limit on what I can get from vending machines money-wise. They have trail mix, nuts, beef sticks, and beef jerky in a couple. And have meals (sandwiches, lunchables, etc) in the other so on days like today when I didn't have anything to bring for lunch, I need to have options. But any money I spend on candies or unhealthy snacks at work, I have to set aside that same amount (in addition) and I'll make someone donate it to a cause I don't like. Maybe that will help me out!

Also working on not letting the stress overtake my rational thoughts. It took me a solid 10 minutes of arguing over the cookies yesterday and the stressed side won. No more. Getting my coworker involved with that to help me have an additional rational side.

    I'm the same way about eating when I'm bored, and I have a monster sweet tooth. I'm always looking for alternatives, but I don't like nuts or dried fruits. Let me know what you come up with!
