Highlight for 4/8/19

Tuesday, April 09, 2019

Yesterday included a first of a production week of rehearsals for our Baroque concert this weekend. The singing was great - the standing on a raised box, not so much. I'm always in the back row (i'm almost 6' tall) and thought I would be on a lower box so as to keep head heights even. It turns out, the venue we are in (a church) has two different levels in the altar area, so I am on one of the taller boxes which keeps me even with those on the next level up in the altar area. Oh well. Hips were pretty sore by the time we got done. Thankful that during the concerts we won't be standing as long as we do during rehearsals, only about half the time with an intermission in the middle.

Oooof. I so hear you. I was in so much pain after the last concert - we had an hour and a half rehearsal before a three hour concert, all on bleachers.

I'm sure you know to flex your knees and leg muscles as much as you can unobtrusively. Good luck! And yay for the joys of singing!

Glad the actual production will be less standing on the box than rehearsals.
