April 12, 2019 WHAT GOD WANTS
We know God doesn’t need a thing. God actually has all He needs. He created us and everything around us. He doesn’t need anything. However, God wants something from us. We may think we have nothing to give God but we do. When we believe in God and trust Him as our Savior and Lord, we will want to live for and obey Him. And that is good. But what God really wants is our love. He wants us to love Him with every part of our being. When we pay attention to God, it means we love Him. When we show God we love Him, we are worshipping Him. When we worship God, we are giving ourselves completely to Him. And that is how we love Him.
Mark 12:30 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” (NIV)
1. Write how you show God you love Him.
2. List ways you can give Him your love.
3. Know God wants your love.
4. Remember He created you to love Him.
Dear Lord, we want to worship and love only You. Help us to keep our focus on You and our attention away from the things of the world. We thank You for Your love and we pray You will show us how to love You completely every day. Help us to use our abilities, our words, our thoughts and our actions to serve You and to worship You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We are to love God with all our hearts, souls, minds and strength.
Deuteronomy 6:5 “And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.” (NLT)
Joshua 22:5b “Love the Lord your God, walk in all his ways, obey his commands, hold firmly to him, and serve him with all your heart and all your soul.” (NLT)
Exodus 34:14 “You must worship no other gods, for the Lord, whose very name is Jealous, is a God who is jealous about his relationship with you.” (NLT)
God wants our love and not our sacrifices. Without loving God, our sacrifices mean nothing to Him.
Hosea 6:6 “I want you to show love, not offer sacrifices. I want you to know me more than I want burnt offerings.” (NLT)
