Thought and Prayer for Wednesday, April 17, 2019

When something good happens in our life that we really can’t explain, we sometimes call it a miracle. There are many songs and quotes about miracles as well. We tend to use that word lightly. We say we need a miracle. We say it was a miracle something happened. But do we really know and believe in where true miracles come from? A miracle is a divine intervention into human affairs. Real miracles come from God and nowhere else. When Jesus came to this earth, He performed many miracles for the people to see and believe. He performed miracles then and continues to perform them now for us. Thank God for His miracles in your life. Thank God for His healing power to save us from this world!

Matthew 9:35 “Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.” (NLT)

1. Write about the miracles performed in the Bible.
2. List the things Jesus did because He believed in God.
3. Know God continues to perform miracles today.
4. Believe in God and thank Him for His miracles.

Dear Lord, we thank You for the great things You do in our lives. When we believe in You, we can see the great miracles You do every day. The healing power You have over this world is so overwhelming. You continue to heal the sick to remind us these great things only come from You. We believe in You and want to share what You have done for us with others. Remind us to share Your great miracles in the past and in our lives today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Miracles performed by people come from God and because they believe in God.

1 Corinthians 12:4, 10a “There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all… He gives one person the power to perform miracles,” (NLT)

We experience miracles in our lives because we believe in God.

Galatians 3:5 “I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ.” (NLT)

Thank God for the great miracles He has done and continues to do in this world.

Psalm 136:4 “Give thanks to him who alone does mighty miracles. His faithful love endures forever.” (NLT)
