Tomorrow will be 13 years, that I found sparkpeople...It has become a part of my everyday life.
Has it all been perfect....NOPE.
I did loose 210 pounds in the first 3 years.... Did I keep the weight off... NOPE...
I gained back 10 pounds... I was not happy with that, so I lost the 10 pounds....
and I wish I could say I learned my lesson and stayed at my goal weight , NOPE

for what every reason, I struggle everyday with FOOD... FOOD is my addiction, I start everyday with the best of intentions .... I tell myself, to follow my plan, I need to exercise, in fact 6 days a week I wake dress, brush my teeth go walk, about 3 miles, somedays 4 miles, on 3 days a week I do walk away the pounds and the other 3 days I do strength training..
I use a pedometer and log 13,000 to 15,0000 steps a day..some days even more..
So its not that Im not dedicated to my health and happiness.. I learned to not make excuses for exercise....
I'm still working at learning to not use food...I can eat mindlessly ....I want to eat when I'm sad, mad glad or any where in between... I try hard to not beat myself up, but it is hard some days when I have a good plan, I plan meals, I don't buy junk food... I dont buy proceed food, I cook most everyday... I don't eat bread, pasta, rice...my plate is always half veggies, 1/4 fruit and 1/4 lean protein.... every day for breakfast I eat 1/3 cup of fiber one cereal, 1/3 cup Fage greek yogurt, fat free, 1/3 banana, and 150 grams of strawberry, 1 TBS. of flaxseed..
I measure this,.. I eat a lettuce mix salad for lunch most everyday... ...so once again I am dedicated to my health...
But I still have managed to gain weight...
BUT I WILL NEVER EVER GIVE UP ON ME OR MY HEALTH..

A dear friend of mine, who works with people health issues told me I was a success, her thought is that anyone who can keep off 100+ pounds for 5 years are a success..
She told me I had kept 190 pounds off for almost 13 years, so I am truly a success...
I know she is right but for some reason I feel like a failure....once again this morning I am determined to eat healthy, exercise is done for the morning, I have a weight session at 10 am..

I'd like for any suggestion that you have tried to not be focused on food... or any ideas you have to help me stop using food to cope with everyday life... I should add I'm 66 years old, we winter in Texas, and travel the other 6 months of the year... Look out New England states we are coming your way...

thanks for all the support from spark people over my 13 years...
