One Weigh May

Well I'm drifting up and down a pound here and a pound there. Time to shake things up.

I'm sticking with my beloved keto diet, just tweaking it a bit. In May, I'm doing a fat challenge. Tracking my food to make sure I'm eating an appropriate amount of fat. Keeping my carbs less than 20 as usual. Protein moderate. No change there.

Another difference is I'm only going to weigh myself today (147.6) and on the 15th and at the end of the month. I won't be a slave to the scale this month.

Instead I'm going to work on other markers. Taking lots of saunas to detox as much as possible. Exercising 3 times a week. Making sure I get outside for my Vit D as the weather is gorgeous in Texas this time of year. I have to do it before it gets too hot, which is coming up quickly!!

My brother is getting married in August. So there is May, June and July to tone up. I think I have about 15 pounds left to lose. We'll see when I get there.

    Could you do a blog on how you detox with the sauna - dry sauna? steam sauna? home? the gym? with swim suit, or in your birthday suit (or both??)? as if you were explaining to total newbies (like me) who need to be doing saunas per doctor's orders (*ahem*. yes... yes... that would be me.).

    I guess because I only have access to the saunas at the Y and when I poked my head into the steam sauna (not aware we actually had two different ones in the same room where the swimming pool and the hot tub are also located), there were two half nekkid "old" fellas t here... so I was like ARRRRRGH.... (the old PTSD stuff reared up.)...and fled the scene.

    Soooo anyway.. but so like can I take water bottles in? plastic bottles or is stainless steel better? Or will it get too hot?

    Great plan! I never get anywhere when I focus on the scale number (process goals all the way for me, Baby). You've got this! May I ask, I'm curious as to what a keto fat might window might look like at various stages in the weight loss process... do you have to go up for fat, or down, do you think? No matter where you're at, you always inspire me, Karen!

    KDGIRL, heck if you can loose 5 pounds by the end of July that will be a victory. It might be more.

    I'm all for changing a routine and seeing what happens, as I suspect you might by trying small changes.

    I try to stay away from the scale and it can be discouraging at times. It can fluctuate at times, I like the idea of the beginning, middle and end of month for the scale. Good luck!
