New Skates + Gym Membership for Mother's Day
Friday, May 10, 2019
While on a brief vacation to my home town with my daughter I came across a pair of shiny silver sneaker style LED skates that I fell completely in love with. My daughter and my mother went in together and bought them for me and since the town where I grew up now has a skate park I decided that would be a great place to take them and both try them out and check out what skating in a skate park for the first time was like. The video that is hopefully embedded above is of me on my new skates.
We had to cut our trip somewhat shorter than planned due to inclement weather but I decided to go ahead and take the time off because our busy season starts today with the arrival of the first of the truckloads of instruments for repair before school starts back in the fall. So since we had some time yesterday we went to the gym at the college of health sciences where we both do standardized patient work and got everything done to activate our membership benefit and had a lovely workout.
Only downside of all this new activity level is that I threw a low around 3:30 am but I am already in discussion with my doctor about reducing my diabetes meds yet again so I'm gathering data and moving toward that goal depending on how this plays out over the longer term.
I'm super excited about both of these things and having a lovely Mother's Day week.
