YEAH!! The END Of 2 weeks of a challenge NO JUNK FOOD!! How did I do?

Friday, May 10, 2019

I belong to the emoticon A Team a part of the 2019 Spring 5% Challenge and one of our 2 LTGLs (Living The Good Life) challenges has to earning 10 points a day for each day we did NOT eat Junk Food!!

Well ANYONE who knows me KNOWS I forever plan on eating a limited amount of junk food for the rest of my life!! To me any junk food in moderation, as my calorie allowance has room for is a GO!!

If you're new to my blogs, you may be thinking "Oh that's JUST NOT RIGHT!!" Or "GO FOR IT!" You see I've never ever been a "good eater" , but for the 1st time in my decades of life I am eating so much healthier than I ever had!!

Here's the before and after picture

I've been on SPARKS for over 8 years and I've done things many have/are doing with cutting out foods and lowering categories, but long term they do NOT work (long term meaning for life) I had hit 174 in 2015, but ended up with a bone infection and could not exercise as I had been for almost a year. During that year my weight SHOT UP to 215!! I LEARNED!!

Cheri (Cheririddell and MaryAnngi emoticon plus so many others including Raylinstephens who taught me it's OK to EAT JUNK FOOD and STILL be SUCCESSFUL!!

And they are RIGHT!!

During the 2 weeks I DID TRY to show myself that I COULD DO THIS sometimes. Out of the 14 days I DID SUCCEED in NO junk food for 8 of them!! To me, that's INCREDIBLE!! BUT!! It wasn't enjoyable to me. It felt more like I was being deprived, but still as the CL of the

team I felt I needed to try it.

So what did I learn? I CAN Skip a day here and there of NO JUNK FOOD but on the days I had when I did eat it again I ATE MORE than I WOULD of.

Still, it was an experience I am ok with trying. It did show me the above.

If you're on the 5% challenge which team? How did you do during these past 2 weeks?

If your'e not on the 5% Challenge how do you do with days of no junk food?

I had a similar problem - the No Junk Food only caused me to go nutzo on the other days, because I have worked some junk into my meal plans to balance out my calories with my exercise.

So doing without my regular 'treats' caused me to feel deprived too - which, I'm sure, triggered binges.

Next time we do this NJF challenge, I will have to eat the allotted amounts just to remain stable. Praise the Lord, I am still maintaining!

Love you Diane & Missing you,
linda & bubba, of course & bubba!

I realize that was no small accomplishment for you!!
I still hold to the idea that if you love a food you need to include it in your eating plan..
in moderation of course..but like you said on the days when you did indulge..you did a bit too much!
I set a pattern of one or two Dove with almond bites each night..and MAN did I miss those!
Dark Chocolate and Almonds..an unbeatable pair!!

Now on to the next challege and eating lots of emoticon .

nite now..Miss Molly is snoozing on MY bed! humph...she will have to move to her bed soon!

I find this so interesting. I have also never given up junk food entirely. I am wondering what you include as junk food. To me it is candy and chip type food. Do you include fast food as junk food. You have inspired me to see if I could also go without candy. When I am being on plan I have chocolate chips and have a few if I feel the need --silly I am like an addict. Have a great day. You are an inspiration to me.

Yes, I found that going without junk food...or my definition of junk food hard to do. I think for me to be successful in this area I will have to treat all junk food like Oreo cookies. They cannot be in the house at all. When the junk food is in the cabinet and I open the door the junk food shouts out - I taste good...go ahead take a bite. emoticon

I think I did well... at least I think I did.
but I am so very far from what I want to be..
Hope I have enough time left in my life-span to
achieve my goals without any form of any illness/disease playing a part in the journey.

    I applaud your successes
and concur... whatever nutrition/movement plan you use to lose..
must also be a nutrition/movement plan you WILL maintain for the rest of your life.
because as soon as you go back to your old plan.. you will regain your old weight
    and probably a bit more.
