May 24, 2019 THOSE WHO DO EVIL

With all the wrongdoing in this world, it is hard not to worry. We see so many people doing things that are just evil. In the news, we see so many evil things going on. Even in our own communities and homes, we see those who do wrong and those who worry about those who do wrong. When people lie to get ahead, that is evil. When others attempt to make another person look bad, that is evil. It doesn’t have to be murder to be a sin. Wrong is wrong. However, we don’t have to be consumed by the evil in this world. God doesn’t want us to worry or to retaliate. He wants us to trust Him and patiently wait for Him to act.

Psalm 37:7 “Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.” (NLT)

1. Write what evil you are dealing with.
2. List the ways you feel about that evil.
3. Know God doesn’t want you to worry.
4. Remember to give it to God and let Him take control.

Dear Lord, help us to remember You are in control. Remind us not to worry about the evil in this world and to not want to take matters into our own hands. We don’t want to be the ones who stir things up by gossiping or seeking retaliation. We want to patiently wait on You to act just as You call us to do. Help us to not be bitter or worry. Help us just to trust in You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

We don’t need to be worried or bitter about this evil world. We need to pray and lift up all our burdens to God.

Psalms‬ ‭73:21 “Then I realized that my heart was bitter, and I was all torn up inside.” (NLT)‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

We need to remember God’s promise that He will bring justice against those who do evil.

Psalm 75:2 “God says, ‘At the time I have planned, I will bring justice against the wicked.’” (NLT)

We need to pray and wait when others do evil knowing God will take care of things.

Proverbs 20:22 “Don’t say, ‘I will get even for this wrong.’ Wait for the Lord to handle the matter.” (NLT)
