May 26, 2019 CHOOSE MERCY AND GRACE
We have to make choices in life. We can choose to get wrapped up in this worries of this world or we can give all our worries and concerns to God. We can try to figure things out on our own or we can let God handle things. We can doubt what God is going to do or we can trust in Him and rely on His mercy and grace knowing He loves us and will take care of us. God’s mercy and grace are mentioned all throughout His word. We don’t need to worry about the past, the present or the future. We just need to remember God’s goodness, His promises and His love knowing He will get us through anything we have to deal with in life.
Psalm 103:8-14 “The LORD is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. The LORD is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust.” (NLT)
1. Write how God has helped you in the past.
2. List the things you worry about today.
3. Know God will take care of you as He promises to do.
4. Choose to trust in God rather than focus on the worries of the world.
Dear Lord, we thank You for Your promises and that You love us. We thank You for Your mercy and Your grace. We know when we put our trust in You we can be content despite what things are going on around us. Thank You for the peace that only You can give. Thank You for Your protection and for watching over us. Remind us daily to choose to trust only in You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We don’t have to worry because God will take care of us wherever we go.
Psalm 91:11 “For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.” (NLT)
God promises mercy on us through His grace.
Isaiah 60:10b “I will now have mercy on you through my grace.” (NLT)
God promises to watch over those who love Him.
Psalm 145:20 “The Lord watches over all who love him.” (NIV)
