National Recommitment Month

This is our assignment for the Aspire and Inspire sparkteam: May is National Recommitment Month, a great time to look back at all the goals and resolutions you made for yourselves at the New Year. At this time of year your resolve may have petered out a bit. If so, it’s time to recommit yourself! It's a good time to reexamine what you’ve done toward achieving your New Year’s goals and evaluating your progress. Are you heading closer to or further away from what you want to accomplish? If you’ve wavered, recommit! Will you do anything different with the summer months approaching?

The one main goal I’ve had this year is to exercise at least ten minutes a day. I’ve done well some months, and other months not so well. I’ve only had one month where I did it every single day (February). So far in May I’m am doing well; I’ve only missed three days.

Another goal I had at the New Year was to do cardio at least 5 days a week, and to do yoga and strength training at least 3 days a week. I have not done well on this goal. I haven’t had enough variety in my exercise.

To recommit to these goals, I am going to try two things that have worked for me in the past. One is to make a calendar and schedule which days I am going to do each type of exercise. Another thing I am going to do is try to exercise first thing in the morning. I am more likely to get it done if I do it then. This is a good opportunity to recommit to my goals.
