May 27, 2019 FREE FROM WORRY

We have many freedoms to enjoy. We have so many that we sometimes forget them all. One thing that keeps us from enjoying our freedoms is worry. Worry can keep us from enjoying life all together. God wants us to be free from worry. We can do that when we put our hope and trust in Him. We can be free from worry when we chose Jesus. God tells us that only Jesus can truly set us free. Free from burdens. Free from sin. Free from worry. If we want to be free from worry, we need to turn to and trust in God.

SCRIPTURE:
John 8:36 “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (NIV)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write what you worry about.
2. List the things that keep you from focusing on God.
3. Know these things are not as important as living for God.
4. Seek God and His will so you can be free from worry.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, we are so grateful for the freedoms You promise to us. We thank You that we can be free from worry if we will put our hope and trust in You. Help us to meditate on Your word, spend time with You and find peace and comfort from You. We don’t want sin to be our master. We want You to be Lord of our lives. We choose You, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
We can’t enjoy our freedom if we are spending our life worrying. Rather than sin being our master, we should choose Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

Romans 6:14 “Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.” (NLT)

When we allow God’s Holy Spirit into our lives, we will have freedom from worry and the ways of this world.

2 Corinthians 3:17 “For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” (NLT)

If we want to be free from sin that leads to death, we need to ask Jesus into our hearts.

FOCUS:
Romans 8:2 “And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.” (NLT)
