I started off the day attending the annual Memorial Day service at the local park. It was very nice and well-attended as always. Then my sister and her husband and my brother came over. my brother mowed the lawn, my BIL went golfing and my sister and I worked on my nephew's graduation centerpieces. I have 45 to make for my nephew's open house and then 8 to make for my nieces open house.
Halfway during the afternoon, tornado watches became warnings and one of the tornadoes spotted was heading to one of my nephew's town. After several tense minutes of everyone frantically texting to make sure he was safe, we heard that the tornado shifted. Then we started to hear reports that another one was heading to the town that my niece (and sister) lived. My sister texted her daughter and told her to go to her house with her family. They went into the basement until the danger passed. Then we found out that the storm was heading to my brother's house which was 35 minutes away. He got one whopper of a storm but everything turned out okay.
We are so thankful that despite of the heavy storms and tornado touchdowns, no one was injured.
Once the storms passed, it was such a pleasant evening!
