June 1, 2019 CARE FOR YOUR HEART
Our heart is what keeps us going. It pumps oxygen and blood to all parts of our body. It is the center of our life and when we take care of it, it works just as it should. We need to care for our hearts physically so we can continue to live on this earth. However, we are to care for them spiritually as well. Our hearts are more than physical. We can love others with them and we can give our hearts to God. When we serve and worship with our hearts, we can be healed in so many other ways than just physical.
Deuteronomy 11:16 “But be careful. Don’t let your heart be deceived so that you turn away from the Lord and serve and worship other gods.” (NLT)
1. Write how you take care of your heart physically.
2. List how you can better care for your heart spiritually.
3. Know God wants you to give your whole heart to Him.
4. Seek to serve others and worship Him and love Him with your whole heart.
Dear Lord, we come to You with worship today with our whole hearts. We want the healing of our hearts that only You can give. Help us to remember how important our hearts are to You. We want to stay away from evil and turn to You. Thank You for the heart You have given to us. Take care of us and our hearts, we pray. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
We need to be sure our hearts are cleansed by God and we turn away from evil.
Hebrews 3:12 “Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God.” (NLT)
If we don’t care for and protect our hearts from this world and we give in to the ways of the world, we will suffer the consequences.
Jeremiah 17:5 “This is what the Lord says: ‘Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord.’” (NLT)
We are to guard our hearts so that our focus will be on God who will guide us through this life.
Proverbs 4:23 “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” (NLT)
