Weekend Update MM Day 9 and Gym report week 1

Six days of consistently going to the gym. Today is a rest day and I am antsy wanting to do something. I will probably channel that energy into some housework today and maybe a family walk later this evening. 209 fitness minutes (100 of which fitbit did not sync so I'm going back to manually entering my activity now) recorded on my tracker.

Getting up at 6:15 on weekdays has created space for me to take care of me. I have loved going to the gym, coming home and grabbing a shower and a snack and then heading to work. 4 of these 6 days my adult daughter has been my companion at the gym and I am proud to say that I went even when she didn't go which is kind of a big deal since before I would use any excuse not to do the gym thing.

I am feeling good about upping my activity and making becoming more physically fit my main focus this year. I think spending a year focusing solely on tracking my food and building that habit was a good choice and now since that habit is deeply established doing the same this year with my fitness is the next logical step.

My affirmations are becoming more than just words on a page. They are creating my path on the journey and I am excited about where I am going.

I have started running some during my treadmill time and I find that I like it. I am currently running one minute and walking 3-5. It is my goal to slowly reverse those intervals until I am capable of running a mile, something I could never do as a kid in pe class. I am doing this solely to challenge my limiting belief that "I can't run. I'm not a runner. I will never BE a runner." I am all about functional fitness and if something is chasing me doggone it I WILL be able to run away. LOL!
