Family Is Everything

Sunday, June 30, 2019

This blog is my Saturday Blog. Because of a Family Reunion that was a 3/4 day event my nutrition tracking was written down in a note book, my fitness was all the walking involved yesterday with no set fitness workout. What was the most import thing yesterday was celebrating my dear mother-in-laws birthday at The United Yates Reunion. We hold this reunion on or near her birthday. It means so much to her to have her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren around her. There were around 80 of us there at my Sister-in-law's house celebrating. Her place is like a park. She has a huge yard with double pools, a pickle ball-basketball court, a play ground area and a volley ball area and a fire pit area. It is a mecca for fun. The only time you fell like there were a lot of people was around the two meal times. Her upper veranda had the most comfortable chairs that you could sit in to watch all the children have fun. My little grands 4-8 jumped off a high dive for the first time with my oldest granddaughter Blakely doing a front flip off of it. Our littlest Oliie was always on the go as fast he could go. I did what activities I could do, but mostly I just watched and visited with those I love dear. Next year I am determined to be able to do more things because I will be physically more able to do so with my weight loss. I know that it won't' be all off, but I will have lost enough so I can be more physically active. Yesterday my tracking was nonexistent except for on paper, my blog is being typed today, but that's okay. Life happens, sometimes you have to let a day slide, but you get back on the wagon the next day. Yesterday was spent making and creating new bonds with my nieces and nephews, enjoying watching their children's and my grand children's delight in the fun they were having. It was seeing the complete joy of happiness on my dear sweet mother-in-law's face the entire day. Her family means everything to her and she has passed that on to her children, grandchildren and now onto her great grand children. I may not have had a successful day tracking, but the memories I created will help me off far better in my weight loss journey. So I like, like my 2nd mom believe that FAMILY IS EVERYTHING!

That sounds like a grand celebration. The weight loss journey is going to have many twist and turns. We need to learn how to live and still lose weight. It's possible. Others have done and so can we!

You are blessed to have a wonderful mother-in-law. Mine has passed on. We didn't have any extended family reunions with her side of the family. Even my husband doesn't know many of his kinfolk on that side of the family. Sad.
