Assisted Weight Loss

For the past 2 months, I have been going to the gym at 3 times per week and watching what I eat. During those 2 months, I lost 1/2 a pound. It was so discouraging. After having my daughter 15 years ago, I was able lose at a consistent 2 pounds per week. Granted, I was in my mid 30's and now I am pushing 50. So a lot has changed.
Frustrated with the lack of results, I visited a local medical weight loss clinic. I decided to give it a try as I have about 50+ pounds to lose and my health is suffering. The first 3 days there was virtual no carbs. The only carbs permitted were 2 oranges a day. After 2 days, I lost 6 pounds! Crazy! I did my normal exercise routine only changing my eating habits. I guess my eating was not so healthy.
I saw the doctor yesterday and they gave me a fat burner shot, multi vitamins and an appetite suppressant. I feel like I have more energy and do not have cravings. I did wake up hungry at 2 am. I had small snack (popcorn) and went back to bed.
My next visit is on Wednesday where we will go over my food log. They provided me with handouts to help track meals and stay around 1200 calories. I am also tracking on SP as I think it is more comprehensive. While it has only been a few days, I am happy with the attention from the doctor (walked me through my blood work, exercise program and diet). I think this is just what I needed to get me started again. I feel like I can do this!
