Hopw you all have a great 4th BUT take care of your pets. They generally don't like fireworks. Especially dogs. Local new video... www.youtube.com/watch?v= zrNnk4FTgpw
I've used cat calming treats with good results in several situations. You should be able to get hem in pet stores. Presume they have a dog version also.
But for all - keep them inside. Play soft music
My chihuahuas had gotten better after a couple of weeks with the village idiots shooting off the fireworks - on the 4th, they just stayed on the couch with me. The Papilloma has been hiding under my bed every evening. Tonight, the 6th, we had a very loud thunderstorm Everybody got upset - the littlest chi barked back at the thunder & heavy rain & the 2 other chi’s cuddles tighter. Haven’t seen Samurai since the storm tonight.. 153 days ago
Not just pets, fireworks also terrify wildlife ... fireworks are illegal in my county but it certainly does not stop the neighbors from shooting them off all night. In addition, there were also thunderstorms last night, so my poor dog got a double whammy!
They do have a dog version that I get for Sadie.. She still is terrified. I'll be staying close and keeping her safe tonight. July 5th it is terrible to watch the news - all the shelters are full of lost pets. 156 days ago
