follow up on job and leg

I did start my new job. That first day, my sister came with me and we managed to borrow a wheelchair from the information stand in the Complexe Desjardins.
The complex is very big when you are wobbling on one leg...
My first day was hard. I was totaly burned out when I got back home. But it was really nice. I never felt so welcome in a job environment.
The atmosphere at work is great! people are nice and the job is interesting. they have so many good things for employees. Appart from insurances, pension plan, bonuses, vacation time.... They also have fruits. Yes fruits. Every monday we get a load of fruits for the week. Bananas, apples, pears, kiwis, etc. All for us to eat freely. I don't know where this idea came from but I think it is a great idea! instead of having donuts on friday like I've seen in other companies, we get fresh fruits. I also found out I can get a 20% reduction on my transit pass. that is also nice. Apparently Desjardins is a great employer and I am really happy to work there!
I have rented a car to get to work since I cannot take public transport yet. the first day I got there by myself, I barely made it to the info stand to get the wheelchair. I had to sit on 3 different occasions I got there totally soaked! That was the toughest workout in I don't know how long. Good thing I can work from home 2 days a week.
I got better at it. was able to go from the car to the info stand without having to sit and without sweating so much. I got stronger. That was nice. Now in my 3rd week, my left wrist and my right leg are now complaining. I had injured those a few years back and they are not appreciating having to compensate for my left leg.
Now I have a new agreement with my boss. I will work from home 3 days a week and from work on tuesday and thrusday. To give my joints a break.
on the 24th I am meeting with the orthopedist and will find out if I am healed enough to start using the leg. Hopefully yes. I can't wait to be able to put some weight on it. Even if I have to use the crutches. Not putting all the weight on one leg will be a relief.
You know how they say you start loosing muscle mass 2 weeks after stopping an exercise? well it is true. I now have almost no calf left on my left leg. I will have to work it out a bit to get it back!
I can't wait to go to work by transit again! I'm not a big fan of driving in trafic!
