July 19, 2019 THE MEEK MEDITATE
There is a lot of talk about meditation these days. There are so many varieties out there that we could get stressed out deciding which way of meditation is best for us. We could try the meditation where we focus on our breathing. We may try the meditation where we focus on our blessings. We could even try the meditation where we walk to meditate as we focus on the beauty around us. One online article says there are 23 ways of meditation! However, those who are meek understand lasting peace comes from meditating only on God and His word. Why? Because God promises peace, prosperity and success when we meditate on and obey His word.
Joshua 1:8 “Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” (NLT)
1. Write what you meditate on.
2. List the things that continuously roll through your mind.
3. Know you can replace any negative thoughts with God’s word.
4. Seek to meditate on and obey only God in all You do.
Dear Lord, we know we need to meditate on You and Your word. We need to think about You in our daily routines. We need to sit and remember Your wonderful deeds. We need to worship You as we meditate on Your love. We need to take Your word and focus on it knowing how powerful Your word is. Thank You for Your word and Your promises. We want to start meditating on it today and obeying only You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Meditating on God’s word will remind us how great He is and how He is able to help us in all things.
Psalm 145:5 “I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor and your wonderful miracles.” (NLT)
Meditating on God’s word will give us greater understanding of life and our purpose in life.
Psalm 119:27 “Help me understand the meaning of your commandments, and I will meditate on your wonderful deeds.” (NLT)
When we meditate on God’s love as we worship Him, we will find peace, joy and experience His love.
Psalm 48:9 “O God, we meditate on your unfailing love as we worship in your Temple.” (NLT)
