Budgets, IEPs and Pain Meds

Friday, August 09, 2019

The day begin seeing everyone out of the house and the quiet began. I had a few groceries to pick up so I got that out of the way and then started the laundry. Next up was working on the budget edits, but I got a call from the VP who works with special education at the high school and we agreed to get together tomorrow afternoon to go over everything. That meant my very messy folder had to be gone through and everything readied for the meeting. The actual IEP meeting with the team will be next week and there won't be too many changes so shouldn't take long. I do want to meet the new Special Education teacher though as his role can make or break the whole year for Isaac.

I did make an appointment to have the dentist check things out due to the continuing aches and pains. His belief is that it is muscle pain in the jaw probably from clenching. Can't imagine what stress I'd have that might cause clenching! emoticon He did offer me three options for meds: antibiotic, muscle relaxant or pain. I chose pain and he said if things didn't calm down in a few days to call and we'd add the antibiotic. I have learned that I will need to be careful when I take this pain pill though as I was down for the count within about 45 minutes of taking it. Thinking bedtime for sure as I'll sleep very soundly.

Tomorrow morning I am going into the school to have Maegann cover the grays that are beginning to show again. I am hoping that the weather stays nice like it was today (only 82 and a breeze) as Isaac and I can get started on emptying the back deck. If not, Saturday or Sunday for sure as the temps are to be very nice. I enjoyed being able to have the windows open all day for the first time in two months.

We have a forest fire going on north of McCall (where we have our timeshare) and I saw this photo today and thought it was an amazing image.

Even though fire can be devastating, it also has such a beautiful, powerful side.

Very powerful photo. Of course the first thing I always think about about is any wildlife loss in fires like that. Forest fires certainly renew the land in the end though.

Glad to hear the VP wants to meet ahead of time in reference to Isaac. I hope this school year will be a very good experience for him.

Glad to hear the dentist doesn't think you have an infection. Mouth infections can go from nothing to extremely serious overnight. I remember though when I had a bunch of work done last year in my mouth, my jaw pain lasted a long time and I'm a clencher/grinder due to stress too.

Our temps are going to be down the next few days with rain mixed in. Praise the Lord!

I think MSHEL7 is right. The picture would work well as a puzzle.

Such a powerful picture! I'm glad that you have found some relief for the tooth pain. I hope that is all that it is and that you don't have to add the antibiotic.
