For Every negative there is a positive

Friday, August 16, 2019

Today our state representative stopped by because of being on recess. Once the sessions begin Bill 4076 should be going on the floor for vote. It passed the committee and she is taking my victim statements and the article I wrote for the paper to use if needed. She told me another member of the house has a special needs son that is pushing for it in his area as well. I also gave her my statements from when I took her phone to the police twice and because she is over 18 there is no law against sexting, or visual sexual material to protect the vulnerable. I had printed his picture and conversations he was having with her of the guy that wanted her to take a bus and meet him along with his picture in the local paper after he was arrested because of a sting operation a parent of a minor was able to do. I had documented how a minor is protected but because my daughter is special needs and over 18 she’s not. At least I’m being heard! Hopefully it will be passed into law. Like court - so many levels.
