Hi everyone! I just thought I would stop in here quickly and give an update!

In the last 2 weeks I have dropped two kids off at college for the first time ever. MAN was that an emotional and HARD moment. They grow up so so so fast!

They both are thriving and doing well so far. Chase is playing football and made VARSITY!!!! I just cannot believe it......it was a goal he set for himself and his dreams have come true. When he called to tell me he was almost crying he was so elated. His first game is tomorrow evening and I can't wait to see him and cheer him on!

Autumn called yesterday and is in need of her suit (in which I told her to take along) for an interview for a president position on one of the million clubs they have available for kids. She is getting long with perfect with her roommate and loving all her classes except physics. She may drop which is a good idea as she has a VERY FULL schedule already for 1st semester IMO.

Bryce started his sophomore year in HS and is adjusting to being the only kid at home. He misses his siblings more than he thought he would. He's doing well and his first football game is Friday.

I am doing AWESOME! I saw a new low number on the scale last week which put me at 25 pound loss! I have gained a bit of that back...that usually happens when I see a new low. I see it, then my body gains a bit of it back, then I loose it quickly, then I sit at that new low for a bit before I see the next new low. It definitely is a slow process but I don't care how long it takes. I am feeling SO MUCH better!

I have been not focusing on the weight loss itself. I am not counting WW points or journaling calories. I am journaling my food but focusing on eating ONLY when hungry and then stop eating when I am full. It is working and the stress of calorie counting is gone and I LOVE IT!

I am also working on my mind....that for me....is the area that if I don't change, my weight will NEVER change. The thought process and the emotional tie I have to food is where the heart of my issue is at. I knew that for awhile but still expected to see changes even though I wasn't changing anything.

I CANNOT stress this enough!!!!

I am sitting through urges and redirecting my thoughts and re-wiring my brain, stopping old habits and replacing them with new healthy ones. I will say it is A LOT of work but it is working. I am a new person and I love who I am becoming!

Here are side by side pics of when I started this thought changing process to the day I lost 25 pounds.

This picture is worth a trillion words to me..............

I will check in again soon.....hope everyone is having an amazing August!! Hard to believe September is just around the corner!

Hugs,
Kammy

Wow you definitely can see the different in that picture and that should be tons of incentive to keep up on your healthy lifestyle.

Since you were here last, I also changed up my diet. I am doing what they call the keto diet. I have lost 10 lbs, but the big thing since I started about 5 weeks is that my A1C went from 7.3 to 5.9. I am now in the "normal" range for diabetes. This means that the disease is no longer continually destroying my body. I still am riding cloud 9 for that bit of news from my doctor.

I don't eat anything white. No white flour, pasta, rice, potatoes or prepared foods. Nothing but fresh whole foods. At times it hasn't been easy but it's an adjustment that is now working for me quite well. I know the weight will come down, because after you get through the sugar detox your cravings just magically disappear.

Hubby is not following this diet and it doesn't bother me a bit. It did in the beginning, but not any more.

I'm glad that you checked back in and are doing what is a healthy lifestyle for you. That is so super and I hope that you continue. I also am not calorie counting, but I track my food, because I want to know macro-nutrients.

Glad to read your blog again, hope to see another one soon. Also adjusting to 2 miss children is quite the change for you I bet.
