Migraine Appointment

Friday, September 13, 2019

Monday, Sept. 9, was the day of my appointment at the UCLA Migraine Center. I got a lot of information and a new prescription for a prevention med. The doctor is starting me on a low dose which I can increase in a few days. So far the low dose is not working so will start the increase as soon as prescribed.

The doctor also wants me to have a sleep test for sleep apnea. My primary care physician has ordered that for me. But it will be weeks before I can get an appointment for that and then the results.

My diagnosis was migraines being caused from damage to my inner ear from Meniere's Disease and sleep apnea since most of mine headaches start during the night. I also found that the in between headaches are rebounds from the med I take at the start of each migraine to ease the full impact.

This is a process just as losing weight and changing habits are. I will persevere.

I hope that as you increase your dosage, you will become symptom free. I'm really sorry that you're suffering.

You're right, this is a process, and hopefully in the near future your pain can be lessened greatly, if not totally taken away.
