Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice or praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.
Hebrews 13:15

Sometimes when two people are together, one will hear these words: "Hello? You seem to be a thousand miles away" The response comes, "Sorry, I was thinking about something that happened earlier today. What were you saying?" It's possible to be in the same place without really connecting or engaging; we might as well be somewhere else.
Even though we know God is always with us (Hebrews 13:5), if we are not engaging with Him there is little benefit from His presence. So how do we engage with God? Always being mindful of Him, living in an attitude of prayer, and responding to His Word. But what about praise? Praising God is the same as praising a friend or family member; it suggests that the person we are praising is "in the room" and receiving our praise. When we offer the sacrifice of praise to God, we give our attention to Him; we sing to Him, we speak to Him, and we humble ourselves before Him-all reminders that He is present with us
When you feel distant from God, restore the sense of His presence by offering Him the "fruit of your lips--your praise.
